The use of photocatalytic materials in plasma systems has the potential to enhance selectivity and yield desired products. However, surface interaction between photocatalyst is a complex process that not well understood. This work presents comprehensive study effects combining titanium dioxide (TiO2) photocatalysts with non-thermal atmospheric pressure nitrogen-oxygen plasmas, which increases production ozone dinitrogen pentoxide (N2O5) while limiting formation harmful nitrogen (NO2) nitrous oxide (N2O) by TiO2 coatings were deposited magnetron sputtering onto barium titanate (BaTiO3) particulates for within packed bed dielectric barrier discharge reactor (DBD). presence can affect chemistry DBD acting as sink atomic oxygen, through superoxide anion radical (O2-), alteration constant BaTiO3 particulates. explains these on oxygen chemistry. effect properties, gas composition residence time reaction pathways oxides (NxOy) investigated. activity was improved annealing coated surface, subsequently found enable ozone, increase N2O5 significantly decreasing NO2 N2O 0.011 s
